Automatic Classification Tool

Context

This client was in the process of developing a faceted taxonomy in-house and wanted to use a specific automatic classification tool to develop out the lower levels and then use it to automatically categorize new content for users.

Approach

I worked with the client to develop specific requirements for automatic classification, managed purchase and installation of hardware necessary to do the evaluation, collected 50K+ documents from the company intranet to develop and test training sets, and tested each of the tools features. I also performed a gap analysis between client requirements and tool performance.

Solution

A detailed gap analysis report enabled this client to make an informed decision about tool implementation.
